Situated right on the River Thames in the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site, this historic pub is a unique venue in which to celebrate a special occasion or event. Designed in 1837 by architect Joseph Kay, it charmingly retains the essence of 19th Century London, during which time it was a favourite haunt of some London’s most celebrated literary, artistic and political figures such as Charles Dickens and William Gladstone.
The Trafalgar Tavern’s striking cream and black exterior, complete with graceful bow windows and canopied balconies is immediately inviting, with beautiful interiors to match. Adorned with an extraordinary collection of paintings, prints and objets d’art, the Trafalgar Tavern is well-suited to large and small events from birthday and retirement parties to corporate dinners, Christmas parties and even weddings.
The Nile restaurant on the ground floor is ideal for large parties as it can be hired in its entirety for up to 100 seated or 250 standing guests. For more intimate gatherings, the Ante Room on the first floor can accommodate seated parties of up to 30 seated or 100 standing. Backing on to the private bar, the Ante room features wooden floors as well as the tavern’s signature floor-to-ceiling Regency windows overlooking the Thames, and the unrivalled views of London beyond.
For large-scale parties and events, the Nelson Ballroom is an excellent choice. Boasting huge windows overlooking the river, glitzy chandeliers, and ornate plasterwork, it’s by far the grandest room in the building, and can be hired with or without the adjoining Ante Room, depending on whether you want the entire first floor exclusively.
When it comes to catering, there’s a range of options from set menus to drinks packages and buffet/canape options. Staff at the Trafalgar Tavern are always happy to advise on packages and pricing, so for full details, please get in touch with them.
