Having recently revealed its brand-new London Dining Hall, Harrods is on a bit of a roll when it comes to its food offering. H Cafe, which is the luxury department store’s first independent food outlet, is located in the pretty Oxfordshire town of Henley-on-Thames and promises diners ‘something to suit all tastes, appetites and schedules’.
The menu at H Cafe takes inspiration from some of Harrods’ most popular dishes, while the space has a high-end deli feel. There is a pastry section, should you wish to stop by for a bite of breakfast or an afternoon treat, as well as a full sit-down menu. On the full lineup you can expect to find rich cheese toasties, prettily presented charcuterie boards, gently spiced Middle Eastern salads and classics like avocado on toast. There will also be a speciality tea and coffee available, for that all important caffeine fix.
Should you happen to be passing on the weekend, there is also an afternoon tea on offer, with the Harrods’ chefs using the very best ingredients from the shop’s main food hall to create a luxurious three-tiered spread. Sandwiches, pastries and scones are all included, and there is a range of teas to choose from.
While diners are of course welcome to sit in, there’s also a takeaway option should you fancy bringing a few bits home with you, as well as a mini food hall setup, with things like teas, chocolates and small gifts on sale.
Interiors are a calming mix of muted tones of burnt orange and forest green, with low-hanging lights creating a relaxed atmosphere and marble-topped tables adding a touch of luxury.
A click-and-collect service is a further draw, allowing customers to shop from Harrods online and have their chosen items delivered to their local shop. This service includes its own dedicated space complete with dressing rooms.
