For atmosphere, try The Crypt near Farringdon station. The 12th-century subterranean restaurant once played host to Henry VIII no less, and features ancient stone walls and beautiful beamed ceilings. Two Saturdays are available for exclusive party bookings in December, which means you can treat your team to a knees-up without anyone having to endure an office hangover the day after.
Over on St Swithin’s Lane, The Sign of The Don has plenty of history of its own, and is equally atmospheric for a festive get-together. It can accommodate groups of 50-plus, as can sister restaurant The Don, which occupies the old Sandeman port cellars. Last but not least, The Bleeding Heart itself is a solid choice for smaller groups, with spaces still available for up to 10 guests.
