The crew behind Burger & Lobster, Goodman and Zelman Meats have now opened this lo-fi loafers’ lounge by Finsbury Park station. Zelman Drinks replaces indie music venue The Silver Bullet, which is relocating to Seven Sisters. Post-industrial distressed decor and a hefty sound system pumping out rocky, retro, funk, electro and Balearic beats set the scene for a roster of classic cocktails. Alongside the likes of Penicillin, Negroni Sbagliato and Southside Royal, you’ll discover East 8 Hold-Up (a vodka Aperol, pineapple and passion fruit mix conceived by Kevin Armstrong of Satan’s Whiskers). On a sweet tip, Dublin Brace Up is a blend of stout, whisky, condensed milk and gingerbread syrup. Alternatively, order wines on tap and various Beavertown brews. The party continues until 4am at weekends, so nourishment is imperative: Korean-style hot wings, mac 'n' cheese, or spit-roasted pork belly with cheesy grits, perhaps; or even bitterballen (Dutch meatballs).
