About

Despite Caprice Holdings having opened branches of The Ivy all over the place now, The Ivy Harrogate still maintains that feeling of being a bit special as is the case with all Ivy restaurants.

The outside of The Ivy Harrogate looks like that of most traditional bistros with small-panelled windows either side of the entrance giving an immediate old school feeling to the restaurant. The interior is like a wave of colour with most of the seats and booths upholstered in a bright mustardy yellow and the blue walls covered in numerous pieces of modern art. There’s also a large central skylight which lets plenty of light get into the dining room.

The idyllic little outdoor area is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail or two in the summer with wicker chairs around all of the marble tables and plenty of greenery in every corner.

When it comes to food, every occasion you could hope for is catered for. The breakfast menu is a mixture of light dishes such as croissants and toasted crumpets, and larger plates including a full ivy breakfast if you’re wanting to start the day with a big meal.

The main attraction, however, is the incredibly long all-day menu which includes smaller dishes such as truffle arancini and smoked salmon on bread. Main courses include everything from roast butternut squash to lobster linguini, or if you’re feeling like something a little smaller there are sandwiches available during the day.

There is also of course a dessert menu full of crowd-pleasers like Crème brûlée. The food is accompanied by a long list of drinks ranging from classic cocktails to a great selection of gins, as well as a hefty wine list.

If you don’t feel like a full meal, why not try The Ivy Harrogate’s amazing afternoon tea which costs a mere £20 for savouries, sweets and a pot of tea.
