About

This upmarket Liverpool restaurant is a modern British joint headed up by MasterChef: The Professionals winner Anton Piotrowski.

The restaurant’s dining room is minimalist, but chic, comprising of a muted grey colour scheme, plush tub chairs and an open kitchen towards the back of the room. There’s a banquette running alongside one wall that’s scattered with plump cushions, while the bulk of tables are set up to accommodate parties of either two or four.

Roski offers a small à la carte, but the menu mostly champions tasting menus that are dictated by seasonality. The kind of dishes you might come across on your visit consist of contemporary and sometimes eccentric British cuisine – think the likes of 100-day aged beef nugget with chip shop sauce, or smoked eel with peas and chorizo jam. There is also the option to add a wine flight to your meal, if you are looking to make a night of it.

For diners who prefer to choose their own courses, there is the à la carte. On here, you might find starters such as red cabbage bolognese, followed by stone bass with black bean sauce and bean sprouts for mains, and crème fraiche with cherry and chocolate for dessert. Those with a taste for all things savoury can round off their dinner with a cheese board served alongside chutney and crackers.

As tasting menus go, Roski’s is on the more affordable end of the spectrum, but it is still by no means a cheap eat. If you’re on a budget however, the three-course set lunch for £25 a head offers a much more pocket-friendly way in.

Vegetarian and pescatarian tasting menus can be provided upon request, while adding to Roski’s individuality, you can expect to listen to the likes of Van Morrison and reggae classics on the speakers while you dine.
