Our first visit with friends at lunch today, and its getting difficult to choose a venue for lunch in the New Forest, with the Pig, The Jetty, Hartnett & Holder at Lime Wood all holding their end up very well. The Terra Vina stands up well against them though and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. Both couples had arrived deliberately an hour early and spent that hour comfortably seated on the lawn chatting and occasionally glancing at a very comprehensive wine list . The lunch menu offers a very reasonable choice of starters, mains and desserts at decent prices- £27 for three courses for example. If you volunteer to pay a supplement, the choice goes up, but there's no need to pay extra- you'll get interesting an well-cooked food regardless. I can't really say too much about the wine list beyond that its huge and comprehensive. But this occasion was social and so it didn't get the time it maybe deserved. Plenty of good wines in the £30's . Not too much below that.
My choice for both starter and main course was fish, and the main course of lemon sole with brown shrimps was more enjoyable than the starter of bream ; though those on the table who ate brandade of cod were pretty impressed. Dessert for my wife and I was a delicious orange soufflé with a marmalade sorbet that my wife thought delicious and which didn't work quite so well for me.
Service was excellent throughout- timely and pleasant. All told an excellent lunch and I'm sure we'll be back.

A very good meal, but not quite perfect in the food department.
This was the third time i have visited the restaurant at hotel terravina, and as always i had a very good night. Great service, great wine menu. Just a few very minor imperfections in the food department (the white bread was a little dry, i suspect it had been cut a number of hours earlier, the portion of mackeral for the starter could have been more generous, and the desert a little hotter). That being said, would i return? absoloutely.

My husband and I recently stayed overnight at this delightful hotel. From our warm welcome to our departure the service was charming and professional. We particularly liked the thoughtful low-key yet modern decor with flat screen televison, Nespresso machine and ironing board in the bedroom. After a tour of the cellars by Gerard Basset his delightful young prize winning sommelier Laura selected some wonderful wines to accompany our meal in a very ‘non-threatening’ manner. The food was just delicious – my calves liver was cooked to perfection. We highly recommend both the restaurant and this clean cut modern boutique hotel.

A wonderful hotel with a lovely restaurant. The wine cellar is amazing as you would expect. I would thoroughly recommend.
