From the team behind Hackney’s Nest, comes Fenn, a seasonal British restaurant on Wandsworth Bridge Road in Fulham.
The restaurant boasts a covered and heated terrace which seats 14 guests, while inside the dining room feels like an upmarket garden shed that you might find out somewhere in the country. The rustic-chic space comes complete with hanging pendant lights, verdant green foliage climbing the walls and plump ocean blue scatter cushions dotted across the wooden bench-style seating.
Fenn’s kitchen is headed up by executive head chef Johnnie and head chef Joe Laker (formerly of Anglo), with the pair working together to devise a menu that focuses on seasonal, produce-driven cooking. Guests can choose between a chef’s set menu or an a la carte, while food can be accompanied by a glass of wine from an extensive European list, or your choice of cocktail or non-alcoholic alternative.
The menu at Fenn evolves with the seasons, but if you opt to try the chef’s set offering, you can expect dishes similar to Lincolnshire Poacher cheese and truffle dumplings or Scottish scallop with roast chicken butter. From the a la carte meanwhile, you can try the likes of confit duck egg with wild mushroom or lamb’s belly served with spring onions and mashed potato. There is a dedicated vegetarian version of the set menu available - think beetroot with goats curd and candied walnut or Jersey Royals paired with an asparagus and watercress sauce - while the team will do what they can to accommodate allergies and special diets if given prior notice.
To round off your meal, enjoy tempting sweet treats including a nutmeg custard tart and Pump Street chocolate with yoghurt, or go down the savoury route instead with a selection of British cheeses, accompanied by shallot chutney and a savoury cheese scone.
