We started a great Saturday evening at the very well-stocked cocktail bar and progressed (rather slowly) to our table. We were early, (it was about 8pm by the time we sat down)and had plenty of choice from the various dining areas. We chose one with a view over the charming patio garden. We ate a la carte, and had four small dishes and two larger ones. We had no room for rice, and left feeling rather full. Everything was perfectly prepared and delightfully presented. Even the sleek black chopsticks were an aesthetic pleasure to look at and to hold, and their perfect balance made them easier to use than any we have previously come across. The placed seemed to be teaming with staff and our pretty Japanese waitress was a gem, keeping the dishes coming even when the restaurant became packed. Everything was good, but a special mention goes to the Black Cod, cooked to glossy perfection and the melt-in-the-mouth Pork Belly. My husband (after this meal a convert to Japanese food) finished with the Chocolate Truffles—they were arranged in 2 pairs, with crossed 'stalks and looked like enormous black cherries, filled with melted ice-cream. Heavenly,
