Food lovely, but website and real life - quite different stories!
I visited for lunch and was looking forward to 'creating your own menu at the ever-changing and abundant fish market' and had looked at the A la carte menu picking out lots of lovely dishes.
The website also promises - 'Whether your preference is grilled, fried, sashimi or tartare, or if you would like to discover a more traditional preparation such as kakavia or achnisto, there is the perfect catch waiting for you'
What actually happened - we got given a set lunch menu with 3 choices for starter, main and dessert.
No a la carte menu, no mention of the large fish display which I realised was there when I went to the bathroom after ordering.
I'm not sure if it's just not avaiable at lunch - in which case this needs to be explained on the website - or if we just had a horrendous waiter who totally missed explaining anything to us!
We both ordered starters and asked for an extra starter for the table - this totally threw our waiter - I don't think this is a totally wacky request - I made it clear we would obviously pay extra but he just didn't really understand that we wanted to try a few dishes and share.
The starters were delicious - octopus that was cooked perfectly, crispy and delicious calamari and fresh and zingy salmon tartar.
The main courses also really decent - but sadly they came served with the most sorry looking microwaved veg portion ever - just sitting all sad and limp on my plate next to my delicious Salmon and beans. Sadly the wonderful sides that other people have raved about were no where to be seen.
The dessert selection was very poor - fruit, yoghurt or walnut cake, not that impressive. I had the cake it was ok. just ok.
The restaurant was half full, mainly business lunches but a couple of ladies lunches.
I will definitely go back on an evening service where I really truly hope i have a totally different experience that matches up with what they promise on the website!
