From the panther snarling above the doorway to The Beatles shrine on one wall & a signed picture of Lennox Lewis, this brilliantly barmy Thai restaurant is a showcase for the owner’s passions; thankfully, these also include a belief in the pleasure of good food shared with friends in relaxed surroundings. Sit at a carved wooden table imported from Thailand as helpful, friendly staff weave through the crowds to bring you a selection of fresh, inexpensive dishes. Standouts include the ‘ocean special’ seafood soup, zingy with lemongrass & chilli, & ‘volcano chicken’ – a whole bird marinated in turmeric, coriander & garlic & flambéed. Wines (all under £20) include a party-perfect Prosecco at £15.45. Puddings are just as fun, with knickerbocker glory & banana split taking their place alongside the lychees & rambutan.
