Following the launch of Boxcar Butcher & Grill in 2017, the team now have this Baker & Deli just down the road. Open for breakfast and lunch (and dinner on select days), the bakery, store and deli showcases the best of British produce, with diners able to choose whether they want to eat in or take their food away.
In the morning, the kitchen turns out a selection of baked goods, from artisan breads to cakes and pastries (which are half-price from 6pm), while the deli counter is laden with homemade pies, quiches and sausage rolls. Come lunchtime, guests can tuck into salads and sandwiches, alongside a selection of wines, craft beers and ciders. From Wednesday to Saturday, Boxcar stays open until 10pm, serving craft beer, artisan wine, seasonal flatbreads, Swedish meatballs and cheese and charcuterie sharing boards.
If the weather’s nice, you can grab a table on the terrace, while you can also use your visit to do a spot of shopping, as Boxcar sells larder items and household goods, including oils, spreads, artisan chocolates, beauty products and homeware.
