This Marylebone site comes with a novel twist, thanks to its butchery-to-cooking concept. Boxcar features a ground-floor dining room which is supported by a traditional British butchers shop on the lower floor.
Open daily from 8am (9am on weekends), diners at Boxcar can visit on weekday mornings to enjoy coffee and fresh pastries, while light breakfast options are available come the weekend. At lunch and dinner, a navy and copper colour scheme is supported by a simple menu of burgers (beef or veggie), homemade pies, seasonal salads and grilled steaks, made using 28-day rare breed Galloway beef.
Drinks wise, there’s an unfussy range of bespoke cocktails, spirits, wines and beers. If you’re looking to recreate some Boxcar dishes at home, stop by the on-site butcher’s shop, where you’ll find chicken, lamb, pork and beef to take home and cook yourself.
