Windsor Grill

Windsor Grill

65 St Leonard's Road Windsor, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 3BX

Here they specialise in steaks, but there are plenty of other meaty mains to choose from, including Iberico acorn-fed pork, crab from Devon and scallops from the west coast of Scotland. It’s rather pricey, so perhaps best saved for a special occasion.

Bel & The Dragon Windsor

Thames Street, 1 Datchet Road, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 1QB

Owned by Joel Cadbury (heir to the Cadbury chocolate empire and one-time owner of Soho’s Groucho Club), Bel & The Dragon is a favourite for its all-round appeal. The Brasserie at Sir Christopher Wren

The Brasserie at Sir Christopher Wren

Sir Christopher Wren Hotel & Spa, Thames Street, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 1PX

The prices at this upmarket hotel reflect the historical backdrop (the ramparts of Windsor Castle) and location (overlooking the Thames), but for dishes such as venison and truffle pie or chicken wrapped in pancetta and served in a port wine jus, we think they’re probably justified. The ‘bubbles and jazz’ Sunday lunch is popular with locals.
