Boasting picture-perfect views over London’s famous Trafalgar Square, The Trafalgar St James Hotel is an inimitable setting to host a private dinner that’s sure to leave a lasting memory with your guests. A number of private dining options are available but undoubtedly The Rooftop is the most desirable spot to host a soirée that’s sure to impress your friends, family, colleagues or clients. This recently refurbished south-facing venue is a glamorous and well-equipped spot to tuck into some delicious small-plates whilst taking in unbeatable views of the city skyline. Complete with alfresco and canopy-covered seating, outdoor heaters and blankets; The Rooftop provides a formidable dining destination whatever the weather. Cocktails are a particular strong point, as is the spread of Asian-style bites that range from canapés to more substantial eats. The Rooftop has the capacity for a standing reception for up to 180 guests or a seated event for a maximum of 80 people.
For a more intimate affair the simply titled ‘Room’ is a contemporary and elegant glass space, perfect for hosting a dinner party for up to 18 people or a drinks reception for 20. Breathtaking views will set the tone for an unforgettable evening as your guests enjoy a menu of seasonally orientated sharing plates. In the winter the venue pays homage to beloved comfort-food dishes dishes enjoyed on the slopes with the likes of rosti forestier with fried sage, alpine beef sliders with raclette cheese and a decadent Savoyard tartiflette. Desserts are equally indulgent and could include apple strudel, tiramisu or a traditional Mont Blanc with chestnut and Chantilly cream.
If the views are immaterial then downstairs Biblio is another warm and welcoming event setting. Here a living room type space decked out in plush velvet furnishings is a luxurious venue to enjoy an array of aperitifs while sampling a selection of delicious dishes. It’s a great location for a wide variety of social events with standing space for 100 people and seated capacity for 60. Adjacent to the lounge area is the Biblio semi-private dining room which can accommodate a seated dinner for up to 22 people or could be used as a board room for corporate meetings.
