Below casual Spanish restaurant Market, you’ll find a private dining room called 42nd Downmarket, although we can promise you that the space is anything but a downer.
The room has a similar feel to the main restaurant, kitted out with red and white tiles and rustic furnishings, reminiscent of an old butcher’s shop. Effective design allows for the layout of the room to be repurposed for various group sizes – thanks to a set of removable olive green old church doors which allow the room to cater for parties of between 10 to 30 diners in a variety of seating configurations.
Other desirable features include a service bar which allows for drinks to come out swiftly and efficiently, and an audio system which can be utilised by guests to play their choice of music. We’d recommend opting for the Chef Menu, which is a sharing feast comprising tapas and small plates, without the need to pre-order. Otherwise, there is a Tapas and Roasts menu available on Sundays and a Tapas and Wine menu for those looking to pair their food with something stronger than soft drinks.
