Still looking fresh from its transformation project, the home of the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon marries Victorian and art deco design within a modern, functional space. Accessible and spacious, the building houses a variety of venues suitable for events – from 1,000 seated guests in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre to a stand-up reception for 20 at the top of the Theatre Tower, where guests can soak up views over the River Avon. It is also a popular spot for weddings – both stages are licensed for civil ceremonies, as is the gothic Swan Room with its stained-glass windows. A more modern offering is the Clore Learning Centre, which is used for teambuilding and activity days for up to 100 delegates. As you’d expect, RSC adds a touch of the theatrical to their bespoke events, and the venue’s in-house events team can add both backstage tours and tickets to performances for event programmes.
