About Library

This private members’ club benefits from an excellent location in the heart of bustling Theatreland, so it’s no surprise that Library nods to the area’s literary identity and takes its inspiration from books.

Although it’s a members’ club, Library is also available for hire as an events space, including private dining functions. There are a range of spaces to take advantage of here, starting with Saint Luke’s, the club’s open-to-all restaurant which features a stained glass depiction of its namesake at the entrance, who is the patron saint of artists and bookbinders.

St Luke’s serves a seasonal menu curated by head chef Alessio Piras, who uses locally-sourced ingredients to create the likes of lamb rump with an artichoke purée and crispy parsnips, or a crab and avocado salad. The restaurant can be hired exclusively and is best suited to medium-sized groups, accommodating a group of 30 for a seated dinner or up to 50 for a standing reception.

For drinks-focused events, try the Dear Alice bar at Library, a speakeasy which is hidden in the basement of the club. The room is decked out with plush golden booth seating and low-level lighting, and also comes equipped with surround sound. Dear Alice can host up to 60 guests for an evening of mingling.

Elsewhere at the venue, you’ll find Room 7. This industrial-chic space is home to charming period features, including exposed brick, a fireplace and deep purple drapes. The room is flooded with natural light and is best suited to private dining or business meetings – with the room boasting AV equipment for the latter, which can be used for presentations.

If you’re looking for exclusivity, but don’t want to miss out on the buzz of the venue, you can opt for a semi-private experience instead. Semi-private spaces at Library include the Main Room, which features cool interiors that mix exposed brick and period features with colourful furnishings and quirky artwork on the walls. The Main Room is a great backdrop for product launches or music showcases, while Library’s two Mezzanines are where to go for drinks receptions and networking events. Both Mezzanines overlook the main club and boast a view up to the venue’s awe-inspiring atrium, while Mezzanine One benefits from a private entrance and its own bar.
