The two-level restaurant and bar on the 39th and 40th floors of The Gherkin can be hired for weddings on Saturdays and Sundays. Up to 140 guests can sit down for a wedding breakfast in the dining room, or 260 guests can enjoy a cocktail reception over the two levels.

Styled like a 1930s Parisian restaurant, Le Pont de la Tour on Butler’s Wharf is available to hire exclusively. Receptions can be held on the summer terraces or in the bar, while its classic French cuisine makes for a great wedding breakfast.

First opened in 1924, this Grade II-listed venue has a long, colourful history of hosting the rich and famous. With dramatic original architecture, such as sweeping staircases and a huge central chandelier, a wedding here would be quite the spectacle. This striking venue also holds a wedding licence, so both the ceremony and reception can take place in one location.

Home to one of the oldest London livery companies in the City, Saddlers’ Hall is built in a classical style, its interiors bursting with period furniture and paintings. Weddings can be held in a choice of four rooms. The highlight is the Great Hall, with its musicians’ gallery and grand chandeliers, accommodating up to 150 for dinner.

This Grade II-listed Greek Revival building features a formidable portfolio of spaces to hold weddings, alongside luxury bedrooms for guests. Licensed for both civil ceremonies and weddings, the venue can also host receptions. Searcys is in charge of catering.

This grand Victorian building is an impressive wedding location. The white stucco ceilings and Corinthian columns of the double-height Ballroom are an elegant space for sizeable gatherings. Just outside, there’s an area for arrival drinks, and nearby is the venue’s number-two space, the Courtroom.

Dating from 1670, stately Skinners’ Hall is one of the City’s finest wedding venues. Its Outer Hall hosts civil ceremonies for up to 80 guests, while the ornate Banqueting Hall can handle 170 for dinner. For summer celebrations, there are three alfresco spaces to choose from.

This popular City restaurant, next to the Bank of England, has won a loyal following with its food, but it’s also a fine venue for a wedding reception. Guests can gather in the hidden 1776 restaurant for drinks and canapés before moving into the Brasserie to eat under the famous dome or in the smaller Botanical Room.

A lush setting and rooftop views are the draws at The Roof Gardens in Kensington. It can accommodate 200 guests for a formal dinner/dance, or up to 500 for a barbecue buffet, spreading out into the gardens. The venue is licensed to hold civil ceremonies and can be hired exclusively.
