Everyone wants an amazing venue for their wedding– it’s an essential part of making your day just how you’ve always pictured it. However, many of us have been in the same situation where you’ve just got engaged and start looking at all your dream venues and then you notice the massive price tag at the bottom. Well, there’s no need to panic.

Not everyone can afford to get married in a huge castle, or at the top of a fancy skyscraper (and some just don't want to spend their cash in that way). What: Based Right on Putney Embankment, the famous London Rowing Club is a great option for your wedding. With space for up to 100 people seated in the Long Room, there are also plenty of perks at this venue including a fantastic balcony overlooking the river. With choices aplenty in terms of how to use the space and what food you want, the cost of hiring is very reasonable and there’s the added bonus of no minimum bar spend.

What: This classic London pub has a real sense of elegance to it, with its grand façade that looks right over the Thames making it an amazing place to celebrate your wedding day. Beautiful wedding photos are guaranteed at the Trafalgar Tavern with the stunning backdrop of the Thames, as well as plenty of lovely features including riverside balconies. For such a great venue, it doesn't charge as much as you might think making it very much worth considering for your wedding.

The Grange, Ealing

What: If you’re wanting a bit of a quirky venue for a wedding, then The Grange is Ealing is a great option. With a number of different rooms available for private hire in this gastropub, there’s bound to be a room or a combination of rooms that suit your exact needs. The fun décor and fantastic views over Ealing common just add to the cosiness of this venue and what’s more they can provide food straight from the kitchen. It’s a no-brainer when it’s priced so reasonably.

Kachette, Shoreditch

What: You might think that in a very fashionable area like Shoreditch, cheap venues are few and far between. However, Kachette is proof that there are still some very reasonably priced options with their prices very competitive for the area. Based in the old ticket hall of Shoreditch railway station, Kachette has very cool feel to it with its exposed brick walls and dim lighting making it a great option if you’re wanting somewhere a little less traditional for your wedding.

What: Bursting full of character, Bush Hall is a beautiful and impressive venue for wedding receptions, with fantastic Edwardian features and lots of space. It can also be laid out in a variety of different ways to suit your exact needs. With a top notch in-house catering team as well as wedding planners on hand to help you out, Bush Hall is a fantastic option if you want a grand wedding venue at not too crazy a price.

What: You might not have thought you’d ever be considering the roof of a theatre for your wedding reception, but actually The Deck on the roof of The National Theatre has a lot of things going for it. Being on Southbank, it has fantastic views of the Thames below and a great terrace area for summer weddings. The best thing though is that it’s actually very reasonably priced for the area, with various different packages on offer.

What: It’s another pub venue, this time in the buzzy area of Kentish Town. However, the space at the Bull & Gate doesn’t seem overly pub-like with its high ceilings and stripped walls providing a cool and contemporary feel. With the option to hire either the bar area, dining room, or both, it can also cater for the reception right out of their kitchen and its catering prices particularly, are very affordable.

Regent's College, Regent's Park

What: For an affordable outdoor wedding, Regent’s College and its surrounding grounds is the perfect choice for summer weddings. With the option to have a marquee on the lawn, or an outdoor drinks reception followed by a smaller private dinner, the decision is yours in terms of how to use the space. One thing that is guaranteed though is that the lakes and grounds will provide a stunning backdrop to your photos.

The Amadeus, Maida Vale

What: The Amadeus is based in the charming area of Little Venice, and is a very affordable option if you’re looking for a dry-hire space. With both the Upper Hall and Lower Hall of the spacious venue able to be used for weddings you might choose to have a drinks reception in one followed by a full wedding breakfast in the other. It has a selection of different catering companies who you can pick from depending on your budget, and it also has no corkage fee so you can bring in your own alcohol.

What: You won’t find many spaces in London to get married in which are as impressive as the Grade II-listed Octagon Room at Queen Mary’s University. What: Okay, so an Italian restaurant might not be your first thought when you imagine a wedding, but hear us out. Gatti’s is a classic restaurant right in the heart of The City and has a very romantic feel to it with its elegant décor. With a capacity of up to 130 guests for a sit-down meal or up to 250 for a more informal reception, you’ll also be guaranteed amazing food at Gatti’s for your big day and for what it is, it’s priced very competitively.

Tanner Warehouse, Bermondsey

What: This former-warehouse venue is bursting with style and is a great option for your wedding if you’re looking for somewhere a bit less traditional. However, due to the size of the space, which is able to fit up to 150 people seated or 350 standing, Tanner Warehouse is incredibly adaptable meaning that it suits a whole host of different types of wedding. Its very reasonable per head cost includes venue hire, a three-course meal, Champagne AND unlimited alcohol for four hours, making it hard to say no to.

Lovekyn Chapel, Kingston upon Thames

What: This last venue is a little bit of a wildcard due to the fact that it’s not technically a wedding reception venue. However, if you’re wanting something short, sweet and cheap, or even want to have a smaller drinks reception before heading somewhere else, Lovekyn Chapel might be the ideal spot for you. Dating back to 1309, the historic venue is bursting with character with its stained-glass windows and small courtyard, and offers venue hire and a short Champagne reception afterwards for under £500 for 60 guests.
