Hidden away in the heart of the City, this historic venue transports guests to a bygone epoch with its red brick façade, wood-panelled walls and elaborate ceilings (they don’t make them like this anymore). The bright and breezy Great Hall is the beating heart of the venue and can seat 120 guests. Catering is taken care of by

The only downside of this venue is that it will probably upstage you on your big day – for this Grade II-listed, four-domed, Edwardian pile is a building of staggering beauty. Located in the heart of Westminster, it has seven rooms licensed for weddings – including the grandiose Great Hall – and a kitchen that creates bespoke menus for any occasion.

Period charm abounds in this Grade II-listed hotel, which occupies a picturesque spot in rural East Sussex. This neo-Gothic mansion also boasts a fab setting for any event, particularly weddings. Your big day can take place in any one of the estate’s four licensed venues, including the Summer House, where guests will have views of the lake.

In the early years of their marriage, Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh celebrated their anniversary by staying at the Luton Hoo Hotel, so you’re in good company here. The Grade I-listed mansion is blessed with beautiful grounds and rooms, including a converted Orthodox Russian chapel. A venue of distinction for sure.

This lavish London venue occupies a grand Victorian building near Trafalgar Square. Inside there are plenty of period features, but there’s also a contemporary twist to the décor. Of the four wedding rooms to choose from, we like the belle-époque Ballroom, which hosts up to 250 guests.

A popular hangout for media types, this private members club in Covent Garden occupies an 18th-century former hospital and can facilitate every facet of a wedding. Spread across seven floors, the venue’s contemporary spaces and creative flair belie the timeworn façade out front. We particularly like The Forest Room for intimate ceremonies.

This historic, Grade II-listed former brewery has been reborn as a modern venue and includes some of the most versatile events spaces in London.
