For iconic surroundings on your wedding day, Queen Mary University of London offers a prestigious backdrop for photographs and reception drinks. In the summer, The Queens’ Building lawn is fitting for an alfresco champagne reception with a Victorian clock tower acting as a picturesque backdrop, or the senior common room which can accommodate 80 in the colder months. Move on to wedding breakfast in the Grade II-listed Octagon room, a former library (with space for 220) whose domed ceilings were inspired by the British Museum’s Reading Room. Civil ceremonies for 100 are also an option. Just east of the City and with excellent travel connections, you’ll be able to welcome guests with ease, and there’s even accommodation on campus available in summer months.
