There are several spaces to host the wedding reception to kick off the day’s proceedings in style – the first event of the day is important, to set the tone for the rest of the wedding. The riverside marquee with the walled garden is a great option for outdoor drinks and canape affairs, and to let the sun shine down on your event. The marquee offers a stunning view over the river, while the walled garden is beautifully landscaped and makes for a charming backdrop for photos.
For a more indoor/outdoor vibe, the Orangery or the walled garden conservatory is the perfect compromise. The Orangery can be used for wedding breakfasts too, seating up to 80 people, plus it has a view of the pretty garden, which looks great any season. The conservation offers elevated views of the meadow and beyond, and is better suited for more intimate parties, seating up to 30 people.
For the ceremony, couples can choose from two indoor rooms and five al fresco settings. The Chinese Dining room, which can accommodate 54 people, features a stunning oriental design replete with hand painted silk wallpaper, decorated in pretty birds and peonies. The room also has glass door that open out onto the garden for the party to seamlessly continue outside after the ceremony. The Music room is the smaller, seating 38, of the two indoor rooms, but it has as domed ceiling and is lined with mirrors, which brings lots of light, in addition to the French windows.
