Somewhere to ‘lighten you up after a day in Olympia’, this long-standing Persian venue packs in plenty of charm. Cheery red walls are festooned in pictures, & white-clothed tables are gathered around the fully operational bread oven. For lunch, you could share five cold starters for £15 – perhaps stuffed vine leaves, a yoghurt & spinach dip, & a traditional dish of herbs & Persian cheese, best accompanied by chewy home-baked bread. Marinated, charcoal-grilled lamb is the highlight of main courses (which all come with fluffy Persian rice), though sea bass or okra casserole provide alternatives. Open until 4am daily, Yas is one of the few local restaurants where you can enjoy a sit-down meal after the clubs close, but beware of the price hike after midnight.
