Woodlands is a charming Victorian country house that is located on the edge of popular Cornish fishing village Padstow, and doubles up as an attractive bed and breakfast. Woodlands is a popular choice with the many tourists that flock to the area throughout the year, thanks to the house boasting easy access to access to seven bays and beaches on the North Cornish coast.
Woodlands is owned by husband and wife team Pippa and Hugo Woolley, who provide guests with a comfortable stay and a renowned breakfast in the morning. There are just two rooms to choose from at Woodlands, both of which are large double rooms complete with ensuite bathrooms or views of the gardens or bay. Guests can choose between the ornate Bay Room, which features a four poster bed, or the neutral Bay Room which can be made up as a double or twin room.
In the morning, guests are treated to a high-quality breakfast, complete with hot and cold options as well as meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. On your visit, you can decide to go down the continental route with the likes of a croissant or pain au raisin (baked in-house), or choose from the breakfast spread presented on a sideboard - think fresh fruit, various homemade fruit compotes and an assortment of cereals. You can also enjoy warm porridge topped with apple, blueberry and maple syrup or toast your own bread before slathering it in a choice of marmalade, jam or local honey.
If you would prefer something hot from the kitchen, you can instead order eggs any style or attempt to defeat the mighty full Cornish: breakfast sausage, dry cured middle-back bacon, Cornish Hogs Pudding, baked tomato, mushrooms, fried bread, potato cake and free range Cornish eggs.
Teas, coffees and fruit juice are on hand to help wash it all down.
