dream, with mellow stonework, blossoming window boxes and tables inviting you to go alfresco on a warm night. Inside, flagged floors, a huge inglenook fireplace, beams, chunky mirrors and rustic
furniture set the scene as cheery staff go about their business with efficiency. If you’re hungry, there are straightforward, carefully presented dishes such as Lancashire hotpot, local sausages
and mash, roast rump of lamb with dauphinoise potatoes or blue-cheese risotto. The wine list is perfectly presentable, while beer buffs can quaff their way through at least five Lancashire ales,
including Copper Dragon and Moorhouse’s. Good B&B too.
