The Curry Club of Great Britain named this ‘the most original Indian restaurant in the UK’ – something that’s hardly surprising, considering it’s housed in a sumptuously decorated Edwardian railway carriage. Cooking, too, is intriguing, with many dishes being the chef’s own recipes. Try his luari mangsho (a medium hot lamb dish cooked with tomato, peppers & coriander) or duck masallam (breast fillets marinated in herbs & cooked in a creamy coconut sauce). Limited space makes for attentive service, but necessitates early booking. A unique dining experience.
