Best sushi since New York!
It is such a shame that I can't add a photo as you just wouldn't believe the nigiri. I was taken, rather trepidaciously, by my friend who is a Manc native and full on vegetarian, so she knew she liked the vegetables, but couldn't account for the fish. WOW! I picked the nigiri selection, which is 12 pieces for £30, so seemed a little hefty, but what an amazing meal. The fish was so fresh is was practically swimming and it was enormous. I literally haven't seen sushi so fresh or that large since I was in New York. These guys put Nobu, Zuma and all the rest to shame. The gigantic tiger prawn was juicy and his head was used to dress the plate and I was spoiled to have both belly tuna and regular tuna the size of a steak. All of it was soooo fresh, yes I have been tautological, but I cannot stress this enough.
They have changed the menu since the Square Meal review, so be warned it's more expensive, but totally worth it. A tiny little place, so I would say that booking is essential with two Japanese chefs behind the counter, which instils confidence at the very least. I can't wait to go again!
