This tropical bar/diner/nightclub brings feel-good beach party vibes to Covent Garden. It may be housed in a dreary old concrete building, but Tropicana Beach Club generates a pulsating party feel with its 30ft palm trees and wooden shacks – helped along by live music, happy hours and regular dedicated theme nights. Fun, in-your-face sharing cocktails include Lovely Bubbly, a mix of vodka, gin and Passoa fruit liqueur, which comes served in a miniature hot tub. There are also beers including the Brazilian Brahma, alongside a fistful of Latin wines and bottles of Champagne. Food ranges from ‘poolside snacks’ such as grilled steak tacos, jerk chicken wings and salt cod fritters, to Thai green chicken curry, a Tropicana salad and pulled-pork buns – perhaps best avoided if you plan to limbo down.
