Reservations for a Sunday roast don’t hold your breath.
Booking a week in advance for a Sunday Roast to find there isn’t any roast chicken! No cocktail olives for a Martini. A French 75 cocktail that bearly makes it to half way up your Champagne glass. I wouldn’t waste your time.
Delicious food and lovely service on both occasions i've been. It's on the expensive side, especially the wine, but for a treat, it's worth spending the extra cash. I forget about the stairs - they're not easy to manage if you're not good on your feet, and there's no disabled access - especially the private dining area on the top floor. That is a bit of a hike, but lovely once you're up there.
Delicious British dishes served by very friendly staff. A really good local restaurant. It is not the cheapest but great vibe.

I arranged a dinner for 13 people here in one of the private dining rooms (The Drawing Room). Everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed it – said the food was excellent, the staff were great and the room itself was bright, light and airy. A great night had by all.

What can be said of the Thomas Cubitt that hasn’t already been said? Why should I add my voice to the cacophony of praise that results from just muttering the great builder’s name? In short, there is nothing that can be added, every inch of praise that one reads about the pub is deserved, it is a model of brilliance in all aspects. The Champagne is cold, the service is warm and the food delivers. Every time. The menu spoils the diner with a myriad of equally wonderful options. Each time I sit confused, bamboozled. The waiter arrives, I ask for another two minutes. I think I’m set on the corn fed chicken breast, grilled cauli, broc & romanesco salad, but then the beef and rosemary pie fills me with doubt. The waiter reappears. Confused I order the fillet of hake, it ends up being brilliant. There’s nothing on this menu that doesn’t please. It is impossible to be disappointed. The Cubitt’s piece de resistance is its Sunday Roast. Sit upstairs and avoid the bustle (the menu is the same in the dining room on Sundays), order the sharing platter and go home happy. Nothing more need be said. Once you’ve tried the Cubitt you’ll be just another of us boring others about how great it is. The Cubitt speaks for itself, it’s a shame none of us can leave it that way.

We recently held a birthday dinner party in the Drawing Room on the top floor of The Thomas Cubbitt.
It was outstanding in every way!
There's space to have pre-dinner drinks and the room is light and airy. From the setting up of the dinner with the manager to the service we received on the night, everything was excellent. The menu was varied and gave a very good choice to our guests. The food was delicious and the wine complimented it well.
All in all a perfect evening.

Excellent private dining
We had a table for 16, for dinner, in the Drawing Room, a private room at the top of the pub. It's an excellent space and comfortably took all 16 of us around one large table. There was room to circulate and space to stand-up and have a drink away from the table, which was most welcome and not something you often find, with a room of this size. We were using for a business dinner and from the off, the setting up of the event with, Marine Coltier (the events manager) was super-organised, professional and went without hitch. Additionally, the staff on hand at the venue were attentive, without being intrusive and ensured the food, which was excellent, was brought in a timely manner and the wine flowed throughout the evening. All round an excellent experience and we would have no hesitation in either using the rooms again, or recommending to others. Many Thanks.

Wedding Lunch
We chose to host a small ( 26 people) wedding lunch in the first floor dining room. We had been impressed by the stylish room and good food on a previous visit. The lunch was organised with the minimum of fuss and the room looked beautiful. The service was excellent from the pre lunch drinks through to the coffee. The food was remarked on by all and we would consider our guests a demanding bunch. We couldn't have asked for better.

THE Most incredible night out at Thomas Cubitt
We had a dinner for 12 ladies from all over the world on saturday night, and booked the private dining room upstairs. the dining room is just glorious, classy and relaxed and away from the main area and so you feel you are in a different place.
from the moment we made the booking with the events manager, to the moment we stepped inside, the team at the TC are simply amazing! nothing is too much trouble, they were so kind, professional, went out of their way, full of courtesy and manners and most of all the food is out of this world! although some would say it is pricey, I don't – for what you get for a set 3 course menu the portions are just right and the wine list is wonderful.
All that is left for me to say is an enormous thank you to them all!

A friend booked for us to go here for a group (there were seven of us) dinner and it ticked pretty much every box. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by friendly and effusive staff. For them, nothing seemed too much trouble and they were highly attentive and prompt with both drink and food despite it being a busy Friday night. The menu was simple yet highly effective and Cubitt's executed efficiently on classic dishes. Steak tartare for my starter was just the right size, beautifully presented on a plate scattered with gherkins and fresh herbs, even if the accompanying toast was perhaps a little too dry and crumbly. The main of chicken wrapped in pancetta was perfectly juicy and tender and again scored well in terms of presentation. Our group all ate varied dishes and I believe there was no disappointment around the table. The wine list was traditional, but both the Loire Suavignon and Rhone red were textbook and showed good provenance. Only complaint would be arrangement of the table (even if we were a group of seven that needed accommodating); it felt a little cramped and getting out to use the toilet therefore somewhat troublesome. Would definitely return if in the area.
