A fixture of the Haworth scene for many years, The Stirrup is now in the hands of two bright young chefs up from London. Despite the limited opening hours (just three days a week), there’s plenty
going on here whether you fancy breakfast, tea or a full evening blow-out. Lunch brings a handful of filling plates such as beer-battered haddock, falafel burgers, omelettes and rösti, while the
evening menu shows off the owners’ talents to full effect. Kick off with a warm salad of chorizo, black pudding and bacon with honey mustard dressing before sampling smoked haddock on pea and prawn
risotto or roast Gressingham duck breast with dauphinoise potato, red cabbage and five-spice jus. Cream teas are served throughout the day, and there’s also an extended afternoon spread with
sandwiches, cakes and a glass of Prosecco.
