Serving award-winning tapas alongside a stellar drinks menu, The Searoom is a stylish bar and restaurant owned by St Ives Liquor Co. Located just moments from the water's edge in this charming Cornish town, the popular restaurant welcomes people throughout the day to enjoy its inventive food menu, while creative cocktails are served late into the evening. The Searoom is a great spot for a whole host of different occasions, whether you're wanting to go out for drinks with stunning views of the sea, or are on the hunt for somewhere to have a celebratory meal out. Dogs are also welcome here, making it an easy choice for food if you have a furry friend in toe.
The Searoom looks both charming and unassuming from the outside, with a few wooden tables sat out front giving customers the chance to dine al fresco while staring out over the sea. Inside, however, the restaurant and bar has a real chic feel to it elegant furniture dotted around the space and a whole host of spirits and wines sitting behind the bar. Prints on the wall add flashes of colour to the otherwise rather dark room.
The small-plates menu at The Searoom takes influence from all over the world, with plenty of local fish on offer too. Expect dishes such as Cornish fish goujons with homemade tartare sauce, slow roasted local pork belly with a celeriac puree and salsa verde, and grilled Cornish mackerel fillet with toasted sourdough and salsa verde. Vegetarian-friendly options range from house hummus with toasted pitta to a Spanish omelette with caramelised onions.
Just as much emphasis is put on the drinks as the food at The Searoom. Cocktails on offer include some twists on the classics like a marmalade martini, while an interesting but affordable wine list features options available by both the glass and bottle.
