Tucked away down a narrow lane behind St Nicholas Market, this historic inn was re-opened & re-vamped back in 2005 to create a pleasing cocktail bar-cum-restaurant. Good-looking staff, simple
artwork, black polished tables, leather chairs & a couple of chesterfields add up to a smart pubby feel, but the cocktail list takes things up a notch with medicinal pick-me-ups, a fabulous
choice of gin cocktails, daiquiris, retro mixes such as eggnog, & other classic ideas re-worked by the bartenders. As for wines, the 40-strong list jets from the USA via Europe to the Lebanon
& India; there’s also an equally diverse choice of bottled beers from around the world. The Brit-accented menu is perfectly straightforward, with suggested cocktails & wines matched to each
dish.
