what was once a grimy nightclub has been transformed into a beautiful tavern with craft ales brewed on site in the shiny stainless steel vats that stand proud behind the bar. The head brewer
previously worked for heroes of the independent beer scene, including Dark Star and Thornbridge, and has put the experience to good use in distinctive ales such as a chocolaty porter and fruity
IPA. Beer hall-style benches at the back of the pub attract large crowds of noisy ale enthusiasts, but there are plenty of nooks and crannies at the other end for those who just want a quiet pint.
The boozy theme continues on the all-day menu with mussels cooked in IPA and ale-battered fish and chips, plus the usual steaks, sausages and pies.
