Arthur and Janette, the friendly proprietors, are passionate about continuing the historical pub’s legacy, offering warm welcomes and traditional pub hospitality. Beers here are award-winning handcrafted local real ales though luckily the wine list features first rate international wines. As with the beer, food here is all sourced within a 25 mile radius of the pub, and the menu features a judicious mix of snacks (available at lunchtime); pub classics like steak and kidney pudding or ham and eggs; and a selection of more sophisticated mains like pheasant with smoked bacon and juniper and red wine gravy, or fish ragout with tagliatelle.
