About

Harlesden’s hinterland isn’t where you’d expect to bump into a Negroni. But this airy post industrial-style bar and canteen – pitched squarely at millennials – lists it on the cocktail menu, alongside Caipirinha, Mojito (£8) and Raspberry Reviver (gin, Lillet Blanc, Cointreau, absinthe and berries). The pick of the limited draught beers are Frontier lager and Fourpure Session IPA, while French Grenache Blanc and Merlot (£19) are house wines on a sub-£30 list that has seven by-the-glass options. Pizza is served from a hut on Common’s communal large covered canal-side terrace. Alternatively, dine indoors in makeshift partitioned booths. Simple mains might be sea bass fillet with a piquant sauce and braised lentils (£10); bavette steak, egg and chips; chicken and chorizo burger; and various superfood salads. Brunch is available from 9am until fashionably late (4pm). Further enticements include DJs (playing until late every Friday), open mic nights and themed supper clubs.
