As part of a major revamp, this sparkly Spinningfields all-day bar-restaurant from the Living Ventures Group recently doubled in size. You’ll now find a capacious dining space with comfortable leather booths, sociable high tables, a buzzy bar area and a year-round outdoor terrace. The vast cocktail list is the main draw, highlighting inventive mixology and theatrical presentation. The menu sticks to casual, crowd-pleasing comfort food classics such as club sandwiches, steaks, burgers and fajitas. We can vouch for the ‘tapatisers’, especially the crisp, finger-licking salt and pepper chicken wings, and the quesadillas oozing with molten cheese and served in a cute toast rack with spicy Cholula sauce. Special fried chicken in a basket could have been juicier, but brought a wave of nostalgia, as did a simple fish finger sandwich served with delectable sweet-potato fries. Add friendly service and this stylish, bustling venue deserves its place in Manchester’s cocktail scene.
