The pub joined the Hall & Woodhouse family in 1983 and is named after the Talisman Strawberry, which is entwined within Park Gate’s and the surrounding areas history, which was once strawberry fields. Indeed one of the pub’s other claims to fame is a dining area dedicated to the Tornado Talisman car. One of those involved in its design is Bill Woodhouse (who lives near the Blandford Brewery but is no relation to the Hall & Woodhouse family), who can be seen in many of the images, including a race against Graham Hill at Brands Hatch.
