About

It’s not often we are treated to exports from across the pond, but Sunday in Brooklyn brings a little corner of New York to our own capital city.

Its London site is found in leafy Notting Hill, but Sunday in Brooklyn was born in the trendy Williamsburg area of New York and has since become a much-loved fixture of the dining scene in the city. The original opened in 2016 with founders Todd Enany and Adam Landsman at the helm, with chef Jaime Young heading up the kitchen.

While the London site – the first international location for the brand – retains much of the original’s appeal in terms of friendly service and an American menu, it also has distinctly local aspects too. New dishes for the UK have been created to sit alongside the playful twists on American classics. The restaurant’s most popular plates include skirt steak with chimichurri and ‘clams casino’ which are cooked with bacon and topped with garlicky breadcrumbs.

As you might expect, weekend brunches are a big deal here, with biscuits and gravy bringing stateside flavours to west London, while chocolate s’mores should satisfy any sweet tooth. Crisp wafer cookies are sandwiched around toasted marshmallows and topped with chocolate soft serve for the ultimate treat.

In keeping with the spirit of the original, the London team sources ingredients from local suppliers to showcase the best of British produce. There are also regularly changing specials on offer to strike a careful balance between keeping everyone’s old favourites in play while at the same time consistently offering something new to try.

The drinks list is made up of natural wines as well as signature cocktails like the Honeybear on Holiday which is a mix of Fiji rum, Amontillado sherry, apricot, pineapple, lime, cumin honey.

The space itself is a beautiful two-floor corner site on Westbourne Grove with wrap-around windows and cosy interiors flooded with natural light. Interiors echo the original sibling site to create a laidback neighbourhood feel.
