Just a stone’s throw from the Roman baths is a restaurant that the Romans, had they been modern and forward thinking types, would have considered one of their own. The menu’s a fairly traditional affair – those after a quick pasta / pizza fix do well with seafood linguine, cooked with white wine and chilli, a little cherry tomato to give it vibrancy, or Pizza funghi, enhanced with roast garlic and black olive. More formal diners might prefer carpaccio of tuna with a light citrus dressing or veal with aubergine and smoked mozzarella. There are no slaves to serve you or to run the underfloor heating system, just decent cooking and graceful service at a fair price.
