Set in the lush Malmaison Hotel in the very heart of Manchester, near Piccadilly Station and Gardens, Smoak Bar & Grill is a feast for the senses, and the best place in Manchester to indulge in top quality oak smoked steaks and fresh fish. The décor is industrial and raw, with a masculine edge, but the mix of booths, banquettes and counter stools offer up a relaxing atmosphere and plenty of places to sit. The staff are passionate about food, wine and service, and much of the produce here is sourced from local and artisanal suppliers. As for the menu, it’s all about classic steakhouse and barbecue fare, with a dose of sophisticated European influence thrown in for good measure. The steaks are dry aged Cumbrian rare breeds, cooked on a Josper grill, and salads, starters, sides (including a lip-smacking macaroni cheese) and vegetarian options are all present and correct.
