Rum and Crab Shack

Situated right on St Ives' gorgeous harbourside, The Rum & Crab Shack is a casual yet fun restaurant and bar serving food and drink to locals and tourists throughout the day. Owned and managed by a group of four friends who wanted to celebrate their passion for both rum and crab, the restaurant serves an inventive menu of dishes using shellfish in a whole host of different way, while the bar stocks over 100 different types of rum including two house rums. Whether you're wanting to try some wonderful fresh seafood while you're in St Ives, or are looking for somewhere to have a few drinks by the harbour during the evening, The Rum & Crab Shack is brilliantly suited to all occasions.

Stairs that run up alongside the building's white exterior lead up to the restaurant, which is based on the first floor of a former townhouse. When you first head inside, there's a bar area where you can sit and have a drink while you wait for your table. The main dining area feels incredibly rustic with exposed wooden beams stretching across the ceiling and the stone walls painted white just like the outside of the building. Mismatching tables and chairs are spread out around the space and a couple of nautical illustrations have been painted on the walls.

There's all sorts to choose from of The Rum & Crab Shack's menu; dishes on offer range from small plates such as tempura squid and buttermilk fried chicken to hearty main courses such as crab tacos and a jambalaya. Rums are stocked from all over the world and include two house rums: Dead Man's Fingers and Stargazy. Other drinks available at the bar range from a number of rum-based cocktails to craft beers on draught and a short but sweet selection of wines by the glass and bottle.
