A party vibe is generally on the cards at this family-run Thai restaurant by the canal in funky Hebden Bridge, and the place is always packed to the rafters with a roistering crowd of locals.
Inside, it can feel cavernous and clattery, but the warmth of service and the great food more than make amends. The food is fragrant rather than fiery, though one or two dishes have the ‘red
chilli’ symbol against them. Po pia tod (spring rolls served with sweet-and-sour plum sauce) are wonderfully crisp and greaseless, gadoong moo ob (baked spare ribs marinated in honey) are
addictive, and the red and green curries are full of distinct spices. Elsewhere, pla rad prik (crispy fried fish, coated in hot chilli and garlic with tamarind sauce) is a triumph – but you might
need a cold Kingfisher beer for this one.
