This charming café has been feeding visitors to St David’s cathedral for several years & its popularity never seems to falter. The setting is simple but magical – carved out of the ruined
cloisters – with regular art exhibitions providing occasional splashes of colour. Bill Sewel’s menu has a something-for-everyone appeal while friendly staff create a totally unstuffy atmosphere.
The lunch menu changes daily & is displayed canteen-style so you can see exactly what you are getting, perhaps rabbit & cider casserole with celeriac & potato mash or fresh mackerel
fish cakes with chilli jam. Similarly there are sandwich plates of locally smoked salmon, Herefordshire rare breed bacon, or sausages with onion marmalade, while excellent little pizzas are served
all day. There’s a good selection of cakes & tarts as well as Fairtrade tea & coffee, reasonably priced wine, cider & local beer.
