About

Shipping container village Pop Brixton is far more exciting than that description suggests. Designed to showcase the best of south London’s start-ups, there are food, drink and retail options, as well as community workspaces and an events area. Read on for details on each food and drink resident.

Baba G's Bhangra Burger

Street food veterans Baba G’s takes taste inspiration from Indian spices and world dishes. Make sure to try the ‘Crazy Lamb’ jalfrezi burger – it’s a serious meaty tower.

Brixton Port Authority

Serving craft beers, real ales, small-batch spirits, organic wines and Prosecco, BPA also showcases the best of London’s independent gin distillers.

Homegrown

Healthy options at Homegrown include gluten-free granola, fresh seasonal salads, soups and raw treats. The food focus is on free range and organic, so you’ll get no processed flavour here.

Smoke & Salt London

Operated by two former chefs from Notting Hill's The Shed, Smoke & Salt combines fine and casual dining, with its modern, seasonal dishes which use international flavours and techniques including brining, curing, fermenting and smoking.

Don Luigi

Italian dishes including fried calamari, arrosticini skewers (barbecued mutton with olive oil-soaked sourdough) and beef Bolognese lasagne.

Koi Ramen

Simple but effective: bowls of Japanese ramen, using house-made pork broth, fresh egg noodles and topped with pork belly slow-cooked for 10 hours.

L'Amuse-Bouche

Featuring all things French and cheesy, on offer are crêpes, galettes (gluten-free), waffles and croque monsieur. Creations include the ‘Goaty’ (red onion chutney, goats’ cheese, baby spinach and plum tomatoes) and the smoked-ham raclette.

Made of Dough

Wood-fired pizzas made Neopolitan-style with toppings occasionally venturing to Spain (such as Brindisa chorizo and Girona serrano), supplemented by Italian beer and wine.

Mama's Jerk

Caribbean cuisine including fiery jerk chicken as well as vegetarian, vegan and fish options. Expect BBQ chicken wings, coconut and sweetcorn cakes and dumpling soup. There are also sweet sides of jerk sweet-potato fries and fried plantain.

Maria Sabina

This Mexican eatery prides itself on its fresh salsa and guacamole, as well as handmade tortilla chips, fish and steak tacos and carnitas. Thirsty? A range of tequilas will have you reaching for the lime and salt.

The New Zealand Cellar

A wine shop and bar showcasing the very best of the vino available in New Zealand. It claims to offer a “wine portfolio like no other”, focusing on boutique wineries and small production companies.

Roe

This fish-focused restaurant has a strong sense of its Irish roots thanks to chef Simon Whiteside. Expect a strong selection of oft-changing sharing plates.

Viet Box

Started by three experienced and creative foodies, expect modern Vietnamese cookery including chicken pho curry, banh mi and sticky chicken satay with popcorn.
