Anyone who’s come across Thom and James – the indomitable pizza duo who have commanded queues snaking down the road outside their Soho joints in Dean Street and Kingly Court – will know that their passion for pizza is unrivalled, much like the cheesy circles of joy they create. A move to foodie destination Exmouth Market was the obvious next step and Clerkenwell locals appear to be very pleased by this new addition to their local dining scene. Though they take their cooking very seriously, there’s a light-hearted approach to eating, which is just as much about the surroundings as the food – the restaurant is filled with retro arcade machines, with TV theme tunes blasting out of speakers, encouraging diners to really relax and enjoy themselves. Don’t miss a visit to their market stall for their lunchtime special either; zuppa is a pizza in reverse, where you dunk pizza-dough bread into the sauce. YUM.
