Soho isn’t short of great little drinking dens and it has just got another one, on Old Compton Street and it goes by the name of Bar Termini.
Evoking the feeling of an Italian café in the 1950s, you can order a pastry and espresso from the counter or sit back and sip a Negroni. Tony Conigliaro (also of 69 Colebrooke Row) is in charge of the cocktails, which features meticulously-perfected drinks created in his research and development laboratory in East London. Conigliaro is something of a legend in the bar world, so expect some corkers.
If it’s good coffee you’re after then co-owner Marco Arrigo has got it sorted. He’s the founder of the University of Coffee in Islington and the man responsible for bringing Illy to London. Here, his list of six Italian coffees (with no takeaway available) will give Soho the caffeine hit it needs.
