The team behind the Disappearing Dining Club – which started life as a dinner party-style pop-up held
in unusual spaces across the capital – is launching a permanent restaurant on Brick Lane, called Back in 5 Minutes.
Partially hidden in a vintage clothes shop, the new 30-cover venue will open on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only. For the rest of the week, it will take bookings from private
parties.
On Wednesdays, guests can expect DDC’s original set-up – namely a three-course set meal for sharing, served at 7.30pm and eaten around a communal table. Come the weekend, however, the restaurant
will take regular bookings and offer a short à la carte menu, featuring dishes such as beetroot-cured trout fillet, green pea and summer truffle risotto, or elderflower crème brûlée. On Sundays,
Back in 5 Minutes will serve family-style feasts in the shape of traditional roast lunches.
