Autumn is well land truly upon us, so it’s goodbye to beer gardens and hello to a pint by the fire.
Words: Ben McCormack
In case you were under any lingering illusions that summer was still with us, Storm Ophelia has well and truly blown them all away. Still, the season of mist and mellow fruitfulness is not without its own charms, not least curling up with a pint next to a roaring fire in a cosy pub.
Ideally that would be after an afternoon stroll, whether at The Holly Bush after a hike across Hampstead Heath, at the Ealing Park Tavern (above) following a mosey around Gunnersbury Park, or finishing a wander along the Thames Path at The Dove by the river in Hammersmith. But no greenery, no problem. We’ll happily take a seat by the fire in Hoxton’s William IV (below).
So wherever you want to warm your toes, here are the best pubs with fires in London.
