A curry festival called ‘Curry Curry Bang Bang’ is coming to London

As part of the UK's National Curry Week celebrations (7-13 October), London's Hawker House will host a one day long curry festival, called Curry Curry Bang Bang.

The festival takes place on Thursday 10 October and will be a celebration of South Asian curries, featuring dishes from some of the capital’s top curry masters. Guests at the festival will be able to enjoy tasting-sized dishes from top London restaurants and street food traders, while your ticket includes a Kingfisher beer on arrival (the alcohol brand is sponsoring the event).

Dishes you can expect to try during the one-off festival include curry from everyone’s favourite casual Indian Dishoom, as well as a Sri Lankan curry from the team behind Sparrow in Lewisham. Lahpet restaurant in Shoreditch will also be showing up to serve their signature Burmese flavours, while street food outfit (and Hawker House regulars) Raastawala will swap out their renowned Kolkatan kati rolls for their unique take on curry, alongside bao bun slingers Yum Bun.

Of course, it’s only right to enjoy your curry with a beer, so you’ll be glad to know that Hawker House’s six bars will all be open and keeping the craft beer flowing. There will be cocktails and wine too though, if you’re not a beer fan.

The festival will take place at Hawker House

Hawker House’s Curry Curry Bang Bang festival takes place for one day only on Thursday 10 October. Tickets are priced at £10 per person and include a Kingfisher beer on arrival, with the festivities kicking off at 5pm and lasting until midnight.

National Curry Week is a week-long celebration of all things curry, now in its 21st year. As part of the celebrations, several restaurants across the capital and the UK offer up to 25% discounts. Participating restaurants this year include the likes of Ooty on Baker Street, and Shola in White City.
